[edit] Info:
Wondering (also known as If You Were Wondering) is the third single release from Dirty Pretty Things' debut album, Waterloo to Anywhere. It was released on October 15, 2006 and reached number 34 in the UK Charts[1].
Thematically, the song could describe Carl Barat's moving on from The Libertines featuring a measured optimism in contrast with the rest of the songs on the album. The lyrics focus on new love, new friendships, and an effort to abandon regret and walk one's own path. The song has been musically praised by critics and is a favourite from Waterloo to Anywhere.
As with second single, Deadwood, fans were invited to join the Wondering music video[2] shoot as extras, spending time with the band in many London locations and culminating in a finale scene shot on Primrose Hill.
Wondering appears as a B-side to Bang Bang You're Dead in a "Tavern Version"[3] - with the band performing the song in an almost music hall style, complete with spoon accompaniment and honky tonk piano.
